Our People Are Our Most Important Asset

Producing products of the highest quality requires a highly skilled workforce, and we believe that you can’t expect top notch performance without providing top notch working conditions. Work-life balance is a core Danish value, and we take enormous pride in ensuring that each and every employee at our home office (from Factory to Customer Service and everyone in between) is paid a comfortable living wage to help achieve this. Though Denmark already has one of the highest minimum pay requirements in the world, we pay 25% above minimum wage as a standard for all of our employees. Our employees work a 37-hour week, and everyone who has a hand in making our pans receives 6 weeks of vacation per year. All Danish factory employees are protected with strict safety and environmental cleanliness requirements as mandated by the Danish government. 

Our Danish factory team takes an incredible amount of pride in what they do, evidenced by the fact that the average length of tenure of our factory employees is 9.5 years. 18% of the staff at our factory has been with us for 20 years or more, and two of our factory employees celebrated their 40th anniversary with us last year! For some working for Scanpan is even a family affair. We have a number of employees who work alongside their siblings, parents, or spouses, and we provide 9 months of parental leave to assist Danish employees who are growing their families. When members of our team retire, they do so with the assurance and safety net of not only the retirement funds provided to all Danish citizens but also the 10% contribution made to their retirement accounts by Scanpan for the duration of their employment with us. As our President and CEO Jesper Brund says, “we take care of our workers as they take care of our products.”
